Responsible business is not only the desire to increase profits, but also care and real commitments to the environment, society, economy, customers, shareholders, employees, as well as compliance with the highest standards of corporate governance.
Bank Ochrony Środowiska attaches particular importance to the implementation of sustainable development goals adopted by the United Nations member states in the AGENDA 2030 resolution. We believe that all change must start with ourselves. That is why we have developed and are implementing the ESG Strategy.
The objectives of our ESG Strategy are measurable and allow us to monitor progress. This is why we prepare the ESG Report to assess this progress. We also undergo independent audits and try to obtain an ESG Rating, which shows our place on the path to sustainable development. We obtained our first ESG rating in 2021. Our ambition is to improve it every year.
ESG Strategy
The ESG Strategy of Bank Ochrony Środowiska S.A. is a comprehensive document regulating the bank's approach to sustainable development. It is in line with the business strategy for 2021-2023 published in June this year. It presents a set of actions taken from the point of view of the impact of BOŚ on environmental protection, care for society and the highest standards of corporate governance. The objectives of the strategy - measurable and allowing to monitor progress over time - are in line with ESG criteria. They are also in line with the "2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development" prepared by the United Nations, of which the Bank is one of the signatories.
We assessed the ESG Strategy project as part of social dialogue with stakeholders. The representatives of the Bank's Management Board consulted the project with representatives of public administration, international organisations and key clients. The participants of the meetings positively assessed the goals indicated in the ESG Strategy as well as the activities and actions planned by the bank. They emphasised the high value of specific commitments, indicators and deadlines. We have agreed on joint actions in line with the implementation of the assumptions of the ESG Strategy
